Welcome, mummies and daddies. If you're here, you're already planning ahead — and that's exactly the right move. Singapore's P1 registration is competitive, phases matter, and distance to school can make or break your child's chances. We built this guide to cut through the noise and help you make a confident, informed decision.

All stated MOE primary schools ranked by tier — ballot competitiveness, SAP/GEP programmes, affiliations and school heritage. Not an official MOE ranking.
Distances are straight-line estimates. MOE's official method measures from the school's boundary to your building outline — verify with MOE's distance checker.
Singapore's P1 registration uses a phased system. Children with stronger school ties register first — if a school fills up early, later phases get fewer (or zero) places.
| Phase | Who | Tiebreaker |
|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | Sibling in the school | Ballot if oversubscribed |
| Phase 2A | Alumni / Staff / Committee | Ballot if oversubscribed |
| Phase 2B | Volunteer / Religious / Clan | Ballot if oversubscribed |
| Phase 2C | All SC & PR | Distance → Ballot |
| Phase 2C Supp. | Unsuccessful 2C applicants | Distance → Ballot |
| Phase 3 | Non-citizens (foreigners) | Ballot if oversubscribed |
SC = Singapore Citizen · PR = Permanent Resident · Always verify with MOE's official P1 registration page.
Answer a few questions to find out which phase your child qualifies for — and how competitive it is at your target school.
